The Supervisor is the first line leader for the Paper Department and works rotating shift. This position is key to shift operation and productivity, supervising the union hourly workforce assigned to the department. The successful candidate will understand and align business operations and Paper as he/she executes their role to exceed expectations and align with Company business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises 20 - 30 hourly employees.
- Lead, model and maintain an environment of safe work practices.
- Plans and controls production performance as measured against operating targets developed according to machine capabilities, Client capabilities and projected business.
- Verifies that the machine remains within established operating parameters (centerlines).
- Responsible for the planning and monitoring of production performance against key operating targets.
- Ensures compliance to established customer quality and production standards.
- Actively leads and participates in mill safety, housekeeping, and lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the department.
- Ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.
- Verifies all operator rounds are completed and recorded.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to set expectations and motivate crewmembers toward meeting mill and department goals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Pulp and Paper Science or Engineering a plus).
- Effective written and verbal communications skills
- Computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Software, Excel, Word and Outlook
- The incumbent must provide strong leadership and teamwork to ensure safe and efficient operation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
