Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Philadelphia, PA! The ideal candidate will coordinate, monitor, and analyze financial and operational business functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal reporting requirements. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers $80,000-$90,000/year!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate reporting functions within the Corporate Accounting Department to achieve reporting objectives for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Lead the financial analysis related to regulatory and internal financial reporting.
- Prepare and compile full income statements for external reporting with minimal supervision.
- Act as the finance business lead in collaboration with Information Technology to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of financial reporting systems.
- Maintain up-to-date financial reporting requirements and ensure timely and accurate data availability.
- Utilize knowledge of revenue cycles and medical expense calculations to support financial reporting functions.
- Foster relationships with internal business partners, providing technical expertise and knowledge of financial applications.
- Represent the Finance department in meetings regarding business and financial reporting initiatives.
- Conduct financial analysis and research to support various reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with departments such as Internal Audit, Actuary, Claims, Pharmacy, and Medical Affairs to gather information for regulatory filings and internal financial statements.
- Assist external auditors with year-end audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Prepare analysis, reporting packages, and project deliverables for regulatory and hospital-specific reporting.
- Understand and differentiate between various accounting and reporting standards.
- Support the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis in developing and training team members.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring process of new team members.
- Perform additional financial analysis and operational duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the health insurance industry.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Proficient in external financial reporting.
- Ability to adapt to a changing data and regulatory environment.
- Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff and various departments.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Word; experience with Access is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with software technology tools for data manipulation.
- Ability to write SQL or SAS programs is a plus.
