The Archdiocese of Chicago, the third largest in the United States, serves more than 2.2 million Catholics in 216 parishes in Cook County and Lake County, a geographic area of 1,411 square miles. As a member of a team, the Evangelization Coordinator advances the Archdiocesan plan for Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship in the Archdiocese of Chicago focused on parishes in the Co-Implementation spiritual renewal project. Collaborating with other Evangelization Coordinators (EVCs), Parish Renewal Leaders (PRL), and the broader Co-Implementation Team, the coordinator serves as a coach and resource to those who lead evangelization efforts in Co-Implementation parishes.
NOTE ON CO-IMPLEMENTATION
The Co-Implementation Project is a way of deeply investing in a set of parishes in the process of spiritual renewal. It provides heavy resourcing in pastoral leadership, evangelization, communications, and project management support.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Serve as the direct resource to parishes in fostering best practices for evangelization and missionary discipleship.
Helps parishes lift-up and train leaders for their evangelization efforts.
With pastor, PRL and the parish team, develop a multi-year plan.
Engage in a coaching relationship with the parish evangelization lead and the evangelization team to build out a kerygmatic soft entry point, create infrastructure for a culture of evangelization, and take steps toward forming missionary disciples.
Follow up on parish evangelization goals and strategies as outlined in their individual parish plans to ensure progress and provide support.
Link the resources of the Office of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship to parish needs.
Work as a member of the Co-Implementation team – and liaison with the Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship Team – to implement Co-Implementation initiatives, which could include special events, centralized trainings, and workshops.
Coordinates the development and implementation of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship processes and resources in collaboration with the Office of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship as needed.
