Work Schedule
Monday: 7:30-3:30pm
Tuesday – Friday: 7:30am to 1:30pm
Some retail pharmacist hours.
Essential Job Functions
· Dispense prescription medication to patients
· Provides information about medications and help patients understand the instructions their doctors provide
· Provide information and make recommendations about over-the-counter medications
· Monitor the health and progress of patients in response to drug therapy
· Shall be required to perform a full range of pharmaceutical services.
· Performs and comprehensive review of patient’s medical history and monitors patients medical therapy for effectiveness, side effects, and adverse reactions.
· Analyzes selected medical programs for accuracy, incompatibilities, and appropriate doses and recommends alternate therapy to the provider when appropriate.
· Counsels patients on the use, proper method for administration of medications, the common potential side effects from medication usage, and precautions and other general information. Provide information and make recommendations about over-the-counter medications.
· Responsible for maintaining adequate medication supplies.
· Provides drug education to patients on correct use of medications, potential side effects and unique medication packaging through verbal and written means.
· Supervises and monitors the flow of the work done by Pharmacy Technicians.
· Monitors compliance with all state and federal regulatory guidelines.
· Portrays the company in a positive image
· Works well in a team environment
Requirements
· Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college
· Valid pharmacist license which must be in good standing with the state pharmacy board
· Must be detail oriented
· Must be able to communicate well with patients and staff
Other Skills/Abilities
· Ability to work cooperatively with pharmacy staff
· Ability to administer immunizations is required
Required licenses or certifications
· Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college
Continuing Education requirements
· Thirty hours of continuing education every two years
