This position requires an experienced RN supervisor to work at a 18-bed Congregate Living Health Facility. The RN will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to Accreditation, Licensure, Quality Standards and Policies and Procedures. This RN must be efficient, dedicated, a good listener, a problem solver willing to foster an environment of excellence that will support everyone in working in the benefit of facility and patients and their families alike.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Direct, oversee and evaluate all patient care personnel including LVN's, CNA's and RT's. Assist in hiring staff, schedule initial orientation and yearly evaluation.
2. Guide staffing needs and scheduling of appropriate clinical personnel. Help arrange alternatives in case of call Ins. Be available to provide coverage if needed.
3. Educate, schedule, and ensure compliance of monthly in-service of nursing staff.
4. Set objectives and long-term goals for patient care. Make sure care plans are being followed and documented appropriately.
5. Organize, coordinate, and evaluate new admissions and discharges.
6.Help admitting and discharging nurse with orders including medication related communication with pharmacies and other supplies. Ensuring discharge medications sent in timely fashion.
7. Must do RN documentation in PCC once a week on all patients.
8. Facilitate day-to-day communication with patient families and provide updates.
9. Resolve issues and deficiencies as needed. Check PCC for deficiencies and unsigned orders and manage documentation requirements.
10. Collaborate with Physicians, other departments, contract employees and professionals to assure operations success. Arrange pharmacist's visits and follow up on recommendations.
11. Communicate with staff and upper management efficiently and timely as required.
12. Assist with IV medications including antibiotics and TPN.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Proven experience as RN and strong clinical background and understanding.
2. Current knowledge of legal regulation, accreditation requirements and Best Practices in Healthcare.
3. Ability to stay current in changes in Standards in Nursing.
5. Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
6. Great communication skills.
7. Outstanding organizational and stress management skills and a proven ability to problem solve.
