Job Summary:
We are a busy restaurant and catering venue located in Essex County, NJ. We are looking for experienced Pastry Cooks / Bakers to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other sweet goods.
Full and Part time positions are available. Weekends and Holidays are required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
PM Pastry Cook: Would work evening / closing hours. Experience required. Willing to train the right candidate. Duties include:
- Prep and plating of restaurant desserts during dinner service.
- Assist pastry chef with preparation of banquet desserts.
AM Baker: Would work early morning hours. Minimum of one (1) year experience in similar role required. Duties include:
- Must have working experience with breads, rolls, focaccia, and brioche.
- Assist pastry chef with cookies, dessert bars and cakes as well as other daily needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to produce an excellent culinary and restaurant experience for patrons.
- Extremely creative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure.
Education and Experience:
- Relevant experience or training, which may be demonstrated via degree or certificate, completion of apprenticeship, or other experience necessary to become trained as a skilled pastry chef.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and preparing and cooking food.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
