About Us:
Arabesque Conservatory of Music is excited to launch a new initiative aimed at offering coding and programming education tailored specifically for individuals with special needs. Our goal is to unlock the potential of our students by providing them with the skills needed to navigate and succeed in the digital world. We are seeking patient, knowledgeable, and experienced Coding/Programming Instructors to deliver personalized, one-on-one instruction on a contract basis.
Position Overview:
As a contract Coding/Programming Instructor with Arabesque Conservatory of Music, you will provide individualized instruction in coding and programming to students with special needs. These sessions can be conducted in the students' homes or via online platforms, depending on the geographical location and preferences of each student. This role involves developing personalized learning plans that cater to the unique abilities and interests of each student, ensuring a supportive, engaging, and effective learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and understand the individual learning needs and goals of each student to develop customized coding and programming lesson plans.
- Teach coding fundamentals, programming languages, and software development principles, adapting teaching methods to fit each student’s learning style and capabilities.
- Utilize a variety of online tools, platforms, and resources to make learning interactive, fun, and accessible.
- Provide a patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment that fosters confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting lesson plans and strategies as needed to ensure continued learning and engagement.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and the educational team to share progress updates and collaborate on supporting the student's learning journey.
- Stay updated with the latest educational technologies, programming languages, and teaching methodologies relevant to special needs education.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a coding/programming instructor or relevant experience in the tech industry, with a strong foundation in various programming languages and development tools.
- Previous experience working with individuals with special needs is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, understandable manner.
- A passion for technology and education, coupled with the patience and creativity needed to teach students with diverse learning needs.
- Reliable transportation for in-person sessions and access to a stable internet connection and a computer for online sessions.
- Available to commit to a contract position with flexible scheduling based on student needs.
Contract Details:
- This is a contract position; specific terms, including hours, duration, and compensation, will be discussed with successful candidates.
- Instructors are expected to provide their own computer and have access to any necessary software or platforms for teaching coding and programming.
