- Strategic Pricing and Planning:
- Collaborate with pricing and planning teams to develop and recommend pricing strategies aimed at increasing company profitability through product, customer, or regional pricing initiatives.
- Assist in modeling revenue and margin opportunities to support pricing decisions.
- Regular Pricing and Analysis:
- Conduct detailed analysis of product and competitive data to optimize regular prices across merchandising categories.
- Monitor and evaluate category performance metrics such as sales and margins.
- Promotion Pricing and Analysis:
- Coordinate with inventory management, marketing, and merchandising teams to optimize promotional pricing.
- Analyze promotion results and provide recommendations for future promotional strategies.
- Strategic Pricing Support:
- Contribute to the development of pricing strategies in collaboration with pricing and planning teams.
- Recommend and enforce pricing policies and strategies to enhance competitive positioning and profitability.
- Tactical Pricing Administration:
- Evaluate exception pricing requests to ensure alignment with pricing policies and business objectives.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize Excel and other database tools for comprehensive data analysis.
- Support strategic pricing projects as assigned by company leadership.
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking:
- Synthesize complex information and research data to inform decision-making.
- Develop strategies aligned with organizational goals and adapt to market dynamics.
- Business Acumen:
- Understand the business implications of pricing decisions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of market trends, competition, and profitability drivers.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience in retail and/or wholesale distribution pricing, merchandising, or marketing analysis preferred.
- Familiarity with pricing optimization and modeling in retail or wholesale distribution environments.
- Proficiency in statistical and pricing models.
- Experience in financial and business analysis, including sales and margin analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and SQL; familiarity with business intelligence reporting tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Knowledge of AS400 is a plus.
