Description:
ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services (FAA NAS ESS) contract. Join our growing team as a Computer Specialist / Programmer Level 1 in support of the NAS Engineering Support & Tools Team.
Responsibilities:
- Performs multiple and varying assignments under the direction of a Technical Manager, or experienced professional.
- Edits, writes, and/or publishes technical documentation for use by field technicians and engineering personnel on a variety of platforms.
- Programs, collects, records, and analyzes data/information and provides troubleshooting.
- Analyzes, manages, supervises, or performs work necessary to plan, design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, or modify systems for solving problems or accomplishing work processes by using computers.
- Maintains knowledge of information processing methodology/technology, computer capabilities, and processing techniques.
- Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team.
- Applies basic technical and publishing knowledge to accomplish assignments.
- Coordinates with a Technical Manager or more experienced technical specialist to plan time and use assigned resources to accomplish assignments.
- Works with other employees, both contract and federal, to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and discuss the status of assignments.
- Work may affect the safety and security of customers.
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in programming skills using software applications and tools is required.
- Must have excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Required knowledge of and/or experience with:
- ADOBE Framemaker
- Advanced Microsoft Office/Word Skills
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Highly desired knowledge of and/or experience with:
- Web Development: HTML / CSS / Bootstrap / JavaScript / jQuery / Other common JavaScript Libraries
- VCS: Apache Subversion / CA Harvest SCM
- Ability to pass an FAA background investigation (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required)
Education/Experience:
- Associate of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming, or similar science/technology is required. –OR- A Certificate of Training in a two-year Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming or similar curriculum from a community college, vocational education school, or military training may be substituted in lieu of the associate of science degree, depending on other qualifications or experience. -OR- A minimum of 4 years of experience in this specific technical area that is pertinent to the support of the National Airspace System (NAS).
- Experience with NAS facilities, systems, and equipment is highly desirable.
