Qualifications:
- One year of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of administrative processes, procedures, and claims processing
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.
- Experience with NextGen Health Fusion EHR / PM

General Responsibilities Include:
- Welcomes patients/clients/visitors, determine the purpose of the visit, and directs them to the appropriate person or department(s).
- Answer and screen telephone calls in a courteous manner and record messages for providers and other personnel.
- Facilitates patient flow and communicates delays with patients and clinical staff.
- Schedule patient appointments according to established policies and procedures.
- Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects co-pays as required.
- Monitors medical office supplies and inventory needs, place orders, and oversees office equipment.
- Copy patient information and forward it to the requesting party after receiving appropriate consent to release medical records.
- Verify account balances and refunds for accuracy. Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.
- Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects co-pays as required.
- Ensures we provide our patients with a pleasant and comfortable experience.
- Responsible for keeping the reception and patient waiting areas and office files clean and organized.
- Secure patient information by maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA standards.
- Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.
- Verify and confirm patient eligibility
- Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges daily.
- Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
