Contour is looking to expand production support & maintenance beyond the day shift cutoff in our 24 hour manufacturing plant. This shift will be a time frame that overlaps with day shift technicians to some extent, details to be determine on an individual basis. The night shift person will begin on the day shift until they & supervisors are confident they will be successful & efficient in the evening shift. Below is the job description;
Education: High school diploma, GED, or meaningfully appropriate PAID experience
Experience: Three or more years prior paid experience in machine shop or mechanical environment. Prior electrical experience preferred
Reports To: Manager Systems Manufacturing, Production Support and Maintenance
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Manufacturing and Service Technicians at Contour Hardening, Inc. will be expected to perform the following duties as dictated by the demands of our business:
- Speak to, see, hear, and correspond with co-workers and customers in a machine shop environment (including identifying and distinguishing different colors of electrical wires).
- Read and follow directions from supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
- Read, work from and mark-up, when necessary, mechanical and electrical prints and drawings.
- Assemble and disassemble mechanical and electrical components related to industrial machines.
- Trouble-shoot, repair, assemble, and disassemble mechanical and electrical components related to industrial machines.
- Repair and service material handling (including robotics) and electrical aspects of induction hardening machines.
- BUILD and INTEGRATE the components that are essential to the operation of induction hardening machines, such as servo drives, spindle drives, power supplies, HMI interface software and programmable logic control.
- Operate basic hand tools (i.e. drills, saws, wrenches, pipe threading machinery, etc.).
- Lift, carry, and position 40+ pound objects on an as needed basis on and off the shop floor.
- Operate TIG welding equipment
- Capable of being certified to drive fork trucks.
- Self-manage own abilities and ask for assistance when necessary to fill functions.
- Work in a team environment and accept constructive criticism.
- Work independently with little direct supervision.
- Manage a variety of tasks, delegate and ask for assistance when necessary.
- Willing to attend and/or serve as an instructor for training programs related to induction hardening machines and related components.
- Input relevant data to complete and create computer generated service reports for all service, maintenance and work orders using the Company designated web or network-based maintenance software.
- Monitor, manage and complete preventive maintenance requests based on the Company’s preventative maintenance schedule, practices and procedures.
- Willing to be cross-trained in other areas and to acquire additional skills as needed.
- Work regular hours (8-5 M-F) and overtime/irregular hours when necessary.
- Travel and perform the above referenced duties at alternate locations.
- Willingly perform additional duties as required.
A valid passport is expected and may be required for this position to facilitate travel to Contour’s facility in Mexico or to Contour’s customer’s facilities outside the USA.
