Job Summary
The Assistant Business Affairs Manager works directly with the video/digital producers, creative, finance and account management teams. The Assistant is the in-house support to the Business Affairs Department across all clients, legal, and business management practices. This role demands problem solving at its best and protecting the agency’s vision equal to our client’s endeavors. In your role, you will cover a few areas:
What You’ll Be Working On
- Contract administration
- Manage talent related items, such as creating talent session and residual estimates, creating casting specs, drafting talent contracts, processing/actualizing talent sessions, finalizing completion reports and paying residual cycles.
- Master our two talent payroll company platforms and functions.
- Gain knowledge of SAG, AFTRA and AFM Commercial Contracts, including union session and residual rates, processing talent holding fees, down/out-grade letters, Taft Hartley forms, Station 12’s, any special waiver paperwork and understanding SAG claims and how to respond.
- Research as needed – music, athletes, influencers, trademarks and copyrights.
- Manage licensing as delegated by Business Affairs team – name/likeness releases, brand/prop/wardrobe clearance and location/UGC/artwork/image releases.
- Understand the stock video and music licensing process.
- Interact with internal employees, talent agents and external 3rd party partners.
- Organize and maintain files along with deal logs.
- Participate and speak to specific projects in weekly status meetings.
How You’ll Excel In Your Role (What skills will be key for this role)
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
- Administrative experience supporting groups strongly preferred
- Understanding SAG-AFTRA TV commercials and entertainment a plus
- Experience working in the advertising industry preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Exceptional oral and written communications, including grammar and proofreading skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and deadlines with accuracy and in a timely manner
- Ability to work with all levels of employees
- Detail-oriented, proactive and accountable; problem-solving skills a must
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability as new responsibilities are assigned

The semi-monthly salary range for this position is $2,100 - 2,208, with an annualized equivalent of $50,000 - $53,000
