We are looking for someone that is very comfortable identifying different Harley Davidson models and years along with extensive parts knowledge in both OEM and aftermarket. Industry experience is required
Job Description:
As a Parts to Service Specialist in our motorcycle shop, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the smooth flow of parts between the parts department and the service department. Your responsibilities will encompass:
1. Coordination:
- Acting as the primary liaison between the parts department and the service department to ensure timely delivery of parts for motorcycle repairs and maintenance.
- Collaborating closely with service advisors and technicians to understand the specific parts requirements for each service job.
- Communicating effectively with parts associates to prioritize and expedite orders based on service department needs.
2. Parts Preparation:
- Gathering and preparing the necessary parts, tools, and equipment required for scheduled service appointments.
- Checking parts against work orders to ensure accuracy and completeness before delivering them to the service department.
- Packaging parts securely and labeling them appropriately to facilitate easy identification and handling by service technicians.
3. Inventory Management:
- Assisting with inventory control by monitoring parts usage and replenishing stock as needed to meet service department demands.
- Conducting regular audits of parts inventory to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in inventory records.
- Collaborating with parts associates to maintain organized and efficient storage of parts within the service department.
4. Customer Service:
- Providing friendly and professional assistance to service department staff regarding parts inquiries, availability, and pricing.
- Addressing any issues or concerns related to parts quality, compatibility, or delivery delays in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering parts to the service department in a timely manner to minimize vehicle downtime.
5. Administrative Tasks:
- Recording and documenting parts transactions, including receipts, transfers, and returns, accurately in the dealership's database or management system.
- Assisting with the processing of warranty claims and returns, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborating with the parts and service managers to implement process improvements and enhance departmental efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in automotive or motorcycle mechanics is advantageous.
- MUST be able to clearly identify different Harley-Davidson make, models & years
- MUST HAVE Prior experience in a parts department or service department within the automotive or motorcycle industry.
- Strong knowledge of motorcycle parts, components, and their applications.- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage a high volume of parts orders and service appointments.
- Effective communication skills to interact with service advisors, technicians, parts associates, and customers.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including the use of dealership management systems and parts catalog software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling parts inventory, transactions, and documentation.
- Problem solver and self starter
- Project positive image to customers at all times
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment, as well as stand for extended periods.
