Job Description:
- Pay rate is based off experience. Pay rate is $50-$100 per call.
- Responds to requests for removal of descendants from hospitals, convalescent homes, residential, coroners, traffic scenes and transporting to the specified location within a specific time frame.
- Perform other funeral home related duties when instructed to do so for example, setting up before services, cleaning up after services, administrative/ clerical duties, and housekeeping duties.
- Responsible for following chain of custody policies and filling out proper logs.
- Complete labor tasks associated with descendents, inventory and merchandise that include but are not limited to organizing descendents, product, merchandise, and inventory; packaging merchandise, product, inventory, and descendents. Complete other related tasks as needed.
- Deliver and pick up decedent's and their personal items, important documents, inventory, and merchandise to specified locations.
- Completing and submitting applicable required paperwork, and completing miscellaneous administrative tasks as assigned. Accurately complete first call informational forms with every case.
- Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all company vehicles and ensuring vehicle safety inspections/procedures are being conducted as needed. Maintaining clean and serviced equipment at all times.
- Must maintain constant communication with Funeral Home Staff, and Direct Supervisor,
- Responsible for proper timekeeping and submitting personal payroll records within a required time frame.
- Maintain safe driving practices
- May require individuals to work overtime, evenings, weekends and even holidays.

Qualifications:
- High School or GED equivalent required.
- A minimum of 2 years of driving experience is preferred
- Valid CA driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and acceptable driving record.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must exhibit exceptional professionalism, be empathetic, compassionate, have excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable interacting with clients, staff, and third-party associates healthcare staff, government staff, and family members during a difficult time.
- Must be detail oriented, possess proficient writing skills and be able to work independently.
- Able to speak, read, and write English (Spanish is a plus)
- Professional appearance including appropriate dress is required.
- Must have attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and work effectively with others
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to work constantly changing schedules. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Possess basic computer, microsoft office application, and/or google drive applications skills.
Physical Conditions:
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to stand, sit, lift, pull, push, and kneel for long periods of time.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
