The Senior Design Technician Specialist will complete routine truss designs, including review and training of others.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assists in coordinating the work and schedule of support staff.
- Provides training and mentoring as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design trusses without layouts from info provided from client.
- Design complex layouts (or any layout project) from info provided from client.
- Interact with customers to solve issues and resolve questions about the designs.
- Works independently on design projects and assignments
- Collaborate with design team to keep design and layout turnaround quick and efficient.
- Design target number trusses per day on average either in individual trusses or layout designs
- Report any ongoing or immediate issues to management.
- Assures stability, deflection, and load carries in a manner that will meet or surpass codes associated with the project or location.
- Provide customer support, as needed.
- Review the new versions of truss and layout programs for bugs and software improvement ideas
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive technical knowledge of component manufacturing operations and design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Proficiency with/ability to learn proprietary component manufacturing design software suit.
- Proficiency with/ability to learn proprietary company management software.
- Possess a Warrior's Spirit and a Servant's Heart
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in preferred.
- At least five years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Travel as required
