Position: Junior Controller
This position will be a key member of USDE and will report directly to the CEO. As the Junior Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of US Door Equipment Corp. (“USDE”) and Columbia Elevator Inc.. (“CE”). This is a key role that requires strong financial acumen and the ability to provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making.
The ideal candidate shall have good knowledge of accounting principles and managerial accounting with a great eye for detail, and to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively.
The goal is to contribute to keep the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Plan and work closely with AR/AP team and other business areas for monthly closing, including the WIP reconciliation, preparing financial statements, and investigating any significant discrepancies and/or variances, for all entities, including two companies and three manufacturing locations.
- Plan and manage the General Ledger and sub legers per business requirements.
- Plan and manage product costing, both purchased and manufactured items and variance.
- Monitors the company’s internal control environment and controllership function to ensure compliance and strong accounting processes.
- Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable/and collection, payroll.
- Responsible for coordination/preparation of audits (workers compensation and sale tax audits).
- Other duties and/or special projects may be assigned as required.
- Plan and coordinate with all key stakeholders for annual budgeting.
- Plan and manage the year-end closing and audits.
- Develop and establish due financial disciplines in all areas of operation and provide independent oversight and controlling functions.
Skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or equivalent with 5 years’ work experience.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- ERP experience, ideally Epicor, or similar.
- Excellent Excel skills, experienced with large sets of data.
- Product costing experience, ideally in a discrete manufacturing environment.
- High regard for attention to details and accuracy.
Hours:
8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.
