Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate IVIG Infusion Nurse to join our team. As an IVIG Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for administering intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) infusions to patients in their homes on a per diem basis. You will work closely with patients and their families to ensure the safe and effective delivery of IVIG therapy while providing compassionate support and education.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough assessments of patients prior to administering IVIG infusions, including reviewing medical history, assessing vital signs, and evaluating vein access.
- Administer IVIG infusions according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accuracy and adherence to best practices.
- Monitor patients during and after infusion therapy, assessing for signs of adverse reactions or complications and intervening as necessary.
- Provide patient and family education on IVIG therapy, including proper administration techniques, potential side effects, and self-care measures.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR) or other documentation systems.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain competency in IV therapy and stay current on best practices, guidelines, and regulations related to IVIG infusion therapy.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [Specify state].
- Certification in Intravenous Therapy (CRNI) or Infusion Nursing (INS) preferred.
- Proficiency in IV catheter insertion and venipuncture techniques.
