The Director of Business Development works closely with the Business Development Team to generate new leads, qualify viable prospects, present Troon’s value proposition and grow the Company. They will be responsible for generating new business in the form of management agreements, leases, advisory services opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
PAY RANGE: $100,000-$120,000/year depending on experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify and contact qualified prospects in an effort to generate new leads
- Discover contact information for targeted opportunities via internet and phone, and then compile into Troon CRM tools
- Proactively contact qualified prospects in effort to generate new leads
- Communicate with prospective clients, including lending institutions, developers, individual course owners, municipalities, strategic partnership candidates and other prospects, to evaluate their needs and determine if they could be a fit for Troon
- Analyze financial statements, including data on rounds, revenue streams, profit centers, departmental expenses, debt structure, leases and cash flows
- Assist with benchmarking analysis and the development of pro forma budgets
- Work with department leaders to analyze information and identify Troon’s value proposition with employee benefits, insurance, revenue generation and other areas
- Analyze and summarize the competitive golf markets for Troon prospects utilizing demographic software, internet research and other available resources
- Interface with existing network of Troon managers and other industry professionals to qualify prospects and add clients to the Troon Family
- Lead the preparation of RFP responses, proposals and presentations
- Make site visits and presentations to prospective clients on Troon’s value proposition
- Negotiate business terms and work with Legal Team to work through agreements
- Work within CRM tool to accurately track opportunities throughout the sales cycle
- Create and update important tools for the team to utilize during the sales process
- Other related duties as assigned by the Business Development Team
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be well-organized, efficient and detail oriented
- Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills
- Must be proficient with technology, including the use of CRM tools (i.e. Salesforce, Dynamics 365), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other systems
- This position requires substantial travel on short notice, requiring a flexible schedule and client focused approach
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Must have 5 years of accomplished hospitality, sales, golf, management and/or club industry experience
