Western Cooperative Credit Union's Williston office has an opening for a Vice President of Operations. This is a full time position located at the Williston Main Branch. Hours will vary between Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Purpose: The role aims to enhance member service, ensure operation efficiency, ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements of the organization through effective programs and policies and assist the overall management of WCCU. The VP of Operations will lead efforts to achieve operational excellence and support strategic growth initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist in directing all credit union member service operations, which include planning, recommending, and implementing programs and policies and, ensuring consistent high-quality service delivery to members.
Assist the Chief Operations Officer with daily operations and establish office procedures.
Maintain contact with branch managers, providing assistance, input, feedback, and guidance concerning their daily operations.
Evaluate the credit union’s policies, procedures, products, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations with emphasis on Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and OFAC. Make recommendations for change where appropriate.
Develop and implement corrective action procedures as necessary to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and to avoid future compliance problems.
Ensure that any change in policy or procedure is communicated to impacted departments, or the credit union as a whole, with clarity. Follow up to ensure new procedures are understood and implemented.
Coordinate compliance audits and present a summary report to President/CEO and/or Board of Directors.
Assist in the development of compliance training programs.
Ensure implementation of record retention policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and laws.
Manage, develop, coach and retain a high performing staff. Evaluate performance of team members for execution of goals as well as compliance with company policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Member Service and Compliance departments. Manages Williston, Ray and Tioga branch managers and one subordinate supervisor who supervise a total of 15-20 employees in the Member Service Department. Also, directly supervises 2-5 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include prior management experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
