Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities and ensuring their well-being. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Morning
- Assist or cue clients with morning routines, breakfast and bathing
- Administer medications if required and document accordingly
- Assist with preparation for daily plans, activities, outings, and cleaning
- Ask the client what they would like to do today
Evening
- Assist with nighttime routine
- Prepare dinner
- Cue clients for restroom use, assist if needed
- Assist client with bathing if needed
- Administer medications if required and document accordingly
Cleaning
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed daily for health and safety measures
- Give clients the time to clean up after themselves after each activity
- Ensure cleaning supplies are in the storage room and locked away (the door must remain locked at all times unless you are getting supplies out or putting them back in storage)
- Inform manager when we are running low on supplies
Other Duties:
- Provide direct support and assistance to clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure clients take their prescribed medications
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, adhering to any dietary restrictions or preferences
- Engage in meaningful activities with clients, such as conversation, games, or outings
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain client confidentiality
- Respect and uphold resident rights and dignity at all times
- Provide care for individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Assist with patient care as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus
Skills:
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families
- Ability to provide physical assistance, including lifting and transferring clients when necessary
- Knowledge of basic caregiving techniques and practices
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding client privacy and confidentiality
