Job Summary:
As a product (hardware) test & validation engineer working for LG Energy Solutions, Michigan Inc., you will have the primary goal of coordinating validation for battery packs & modules and review of final test reports to internal & external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

Coordinate with internal and external test facilities to ensure smooth and flawless test execution, as well as support for setup, scheduling, and troubleshooting as necessary.

Create robust validation test plans (DVP&R) based on customer specifications

Summarize and complete reporting documentation for project testing, based on results coming from internal and external test labs.

Meet with internal and customer stakeholders to review and sign off testing-related documentation (DVP&R’s, testing methods, final reports, etc.).

Troubleshoot and debug test set-up and product-related issues as needed

Support other technical discussions related to validation procedures and results.

Provide regular updates for testing status to internal and external stakeholders.

Analyze and report out any abnormal results throughout the testing execution. Support with root cause/8D analysis as necessary.

Provide ideas for process improvements and procedure optimization.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related field – required
Experience
-
2-5 years of hardware validation or reliability laboratory testing experience (including the creations of test plans, test procedures, and final reporting documentation)
Skills
-
Strong collaboration skills with Cross Functional Team members (both internal and customer) to review design requirements, resolve challenging technical issues, and validate change requests. Internal stakeholders will include members from LGES-Korea.

Experience working with lithium-ion battery technologies is preferred

Experience working with Vector CANalyzer or other CAN-based tools is preferred

Proficiency using tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, etc., is strongly encouraged for this role

Understanding of the systems V-model and requirements cascading to validation plans/testing is strongly encouraged for this role

Cultural interaction (especially with Korean team members) is desired (but not required)
