Our insurance industry client is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Specialist for an 18-month contract position.
This role is completely remote, and you will come onboard as a W2 employee.
Position Overview:
As a Workers' Compensation Specialist, you will be responsible for defining and deploying risk strategies and programs for clients, specifically focusing on Workers' Compensation. This role involves managing and overseeing claims, including those that are litigated, and working with self-insured claims/programs. You will act as a subject matter expert and be a key resource for clients on specific topics related to Workers' Compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and programs for clients.
- Manage and oversee California Workers' Compensation (CA WC) claims, including litigated cases.
- Handle self-insured claims and programs.
- Provide clear and logical written and verbal communications to articulate strategies and recommendations.
- Serve as a 'go-to' resource for clients on Workers' Compensation issues.
- Lead and mentor junior team members as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in handling or overseeing CA WC indemnity and litigated claims.
- Strong technical background in managing Workers' Compensation claims.
- Experience with self-insured claims/programs.
- Proven leadership experience in team lead or supervisory roles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Education Level: All education levels considered
