Join our team at Humanizing Medicine as a paramedic working in our Integrative infusion clinic.
This job is full time Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, clean, quiet, social, media-free healing space with several patients in the infusion room and in isolation rooms. (~10-12 per day).
- Assist in preparation of IV infusions of mistletoe (viscum album), vitamin C, and other complementary medicines for our patients.
- Become competent in the use of metronomic chemotherapy.
- Initiate IV access or port access and run and monitor infusions of the above.
- Assist with patient instruction for subcutaneous injection.
- Continuous medical education in Anthroposophic integrative medicine.
- Learn and perform herbal compresses, therapeutic foot baths, and therapeutic oil application as performed in European Anthroposophic integrative hospitals.
- Perform vital signs, EKGs and other tests.
- Oversee inventory
- Assist patients over the phone
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Meet weekly with the clinical team using sociocratic methodology.
- Acquire training in Anthroposophic medicine. Training is either in Europe or through annual conferences and regular webinars.
Work experience
Ideal candidate is holistically minded, comfortable working with cancer patients as well as family practice patients. You will be working closely with other staff in a busy work environment during infusions. BLS certified. Hospital/clinic experience and oncology experience are a plus.
Education and training will be provided by the clinic.
Hours:
Monday ,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 7-8 hours daily. Starting time 8 or 8:30 AM until 5pm
