*MUST HAVE HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE*
The certified nursing assistant is an integral member of the health care team who delivers quality care through collaboration and communication with team members. They work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse to support and assist the nurse in the delivery of quality care to patients and families. Some of the major responsibilities will include collection and reporting of patient data, incorporating organizational competencies of superior quality care and assuming responsibility and accountability for their role performance outcomes while supporting PPMC's Standards of Excellence. Demonstrates the Penn Medicine Behavioral Competencies in all interactions with patients, families and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers
- Monitor patients' condition and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Assist with medical procedures, such as wound care and suture removal
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience
- Current certification as a nursing assistant PA (CNA)
- CPR Certification from the American Heart Association
- Experience in acute care or behavioral health settings preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, such as Epic or eClinicalWorks
- Knowledge of hospice care principles and practices
- Experience with tube feeding and other specialized caregiving tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
