Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

Establishes monthly sales goals, communicates goals to the team, and obtains those goals.

Engages in monthly sales forecasting and tracking.

Develops, implements, and monitors the use of prospecting programs; participates in developing advertising campaigns and other promotions.

Tracks incoming sales leads and keeps abreast of an ongoing business to assist customers in a timely fashion better.

Understands keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.

Hires, motivates, challenges, counsels, develops, and monitors the performance of all sales employees and guides all salespeople in setting short and long-range objectives.

Conducts daily and weekly sales training meetings.

Establishes a program that ensures that salespeople are kept informed of all new inventory.

Oversees and directs salespeople’s efforts and communicates policies and procedures to enhance the dealership’s image and customer satisfaction ratings. Works with salespeople on programs that increase car sales and helps close deals when necessary.

Appraises incoming used vehicles following established standards for appraising trades.

Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Associates or Bachelor’s in Business or related field is preferred.
Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:
5 years of previous automotive management experience is required.
3 years of automotive sales experience is required.
Specialized Skills:

Basic MS Office Suite knowledge; computer software/internet proficiency.

Excellent verbal/written communication skills in customer interactions with employees, vendors, and management.

Must maintain a valid state driver’s license to drive any customer or company vehicle.

Ability to logically identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to complex problems to implement productive and cost-effective solutions.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information, especially as it relates to understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.

Monitoring/assessing the performance of oneself and others to make improvements or take corrective action.

Broad knowledge of all types of vehicles.
