Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Director of Admissions to join our team. The Director of Admissions is responsible for coordinating all inquiries, referrals, and admissions to the facility. Functions as contact point for all parties involved prior to and including day of admission in order to maintain consistency in communication, accuracy of information and timeliness of admissions.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, hourly position with a starting salary of $29+ per hour. In addition, we offer medical, dental, vision, PTO and holiday vacation time.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the sales and admit process
- Attends events and meetings to represent health services when needed.
- Obtains and documents accurate admission information and completes admission forms and distributes promptly to ensure compliance.
- Verifies and documents insurance/financial coverage from family, government agency, and/or third party payer. Receives copies of relevant insurance information and provides information to the Business Office.
- Coordinates, facilitates, and participates in admissions meetings.
- Communicates effectively with management team as applicable to relay and document admissions decisions to referral sources in a timely fashion.
- Maintains records of all referrals with accurate information concerning outcome.
- Reviews all pre-admission information to determine appropriateness in accordance with established admission criteria and in conjunction with Administrator and other personnel as designated.
- Coordinates all admissions with referral sources and notifies all designated department heads of anticipated admission 24 hours in advance as appropriate.
- Selects an appropriate room assignment based on resident request and needs.
- Maintains effective communication with key facility personnel regarding internal and external marketing issues as appropriate.
- Assembles, maintains, and distributes accurate statistical information including current census, referrals, admissions, and discharges for monitoring purposes.
- Promotes continuity of care and overall “customer” satisfaction according to professional, confidential, and ethical standards as defined by facility and corporate protocols, policies and procedures.
- Abides by established facility and departmental policies including maintaining confidentiality.
- Coordinates and participates in internal and external marketing activities, and resident tours, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and at least 1 year experience with long term admissions, referrals, & process.
