Role Overview:
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for supporting in the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of the project. In addition, mentoring multiple Project Engineers and Superintendents.

The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the overall management of small to medium construction projects or for defined portions of larger, more complex building programs. The PM plans all phases of the construction lifecycle of a project from initiation to completion. The PM is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with agreed-upon plans. A PM can expect to manage a team of both field staff (which could at any time include a mix of Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Laborers) and project management staff (which could at any time include a blend of other Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers). The PM works closely with the Pre-Construction team from the initial stages of the project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for individual projects)
- Identification and management of the project and safety risks.
- Development of the scope and estimate of the project through collaboration with the various project stakeholders.
- Specify all the relevant Butler-Cohen and industry standards required for the design and construction of the facility.
- Identification and application for all the relevant permits that will be required for the construction and commissioning of the facility.
- Embedment of a strong safety culture in the project team, contractors, and on-site workers.
- Assist in the preparation of a project-specific safety plan. Proactively carry out the project safety plan and quality plan.
- Safe Management of the execution of projects within budget and schedule.
- Management of contract engineering resources to carry out and deliver the design engineering packages, tender documents, technical specifications, and all other deliverables expected from the consultant.
- Development, implementation, and execution of the strategy for the commercial aspects of the project, including vendor identification and qualification, tender preparation, invitation to bid, technical and commercial evaluation and award.
- Preparation of all relevant project execution procedures, specifications, and documentation that will be required to manage the project and report progress.
- Preparation and implementation of appropriate spending procedures and frequently reporting the spending status to stakeholders, particularly actual vs. plan, commitments vs. plan, and latest estimate.
- Preparation and implementation of progress reports to track the progress of the overall project against the plan.
- Supervision and coordination of on-site construction activities of the project.
- Preparation of applicable commissioning procedures and checklists to ensure all aspects of the project are completed and ready for commissioning.
- Liaise with operations to ensure all necessary operational commissioning procedures and requirements are in place.
- Preparation and execution of a handover to operations, including procedures, relevant training, documents, and manuals.
- Maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, unions, subcontractors, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Willingness to travel in the market and/or relocate based on project location (Stanton, TX).
- Able to work in all outdoor elements, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc.
- Able to access the entire job site, including stairs, scaffolding, ladders, elevation changes, etc.
- Can work in physical positions, including kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, etc.
- The ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with individuals at all company levels, including client representatives and subcontractors.
- Must be able to work and perform duties with minimal supervision and have extensive problem-solving skills.
- Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management software (Procore preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of all project documents, including specifications, plans, submittals, subcontracts, shop drawings, and any other project-specific documents
- Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and OSHA site visits
Salary: From $90,000.00 per year

Experience:

Commercial Construction: 10 years (Preferred)

Commercial Construction Project Manager: 5 years (Required)
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
-
8+ years of Project Management experience on $5 million plus construction projects

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong technical and communication skills are critical
