Position Summary: We seek highly qualified and driven Clinical/Lab Instructors to join our Nursing Department. As a Clinical/Lab Instructor, you will report to the Program Dean and lead course Instructor and play a crucial role in shaping the future of nursing professionals. You will supervise and guide nursing students in clinical and lab settings as assigned, ensuring they adhere to established nursing protocols and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Instruction:
- Complete the facility orientation and maintain faculty clinical files for clinical instruction clearance.
- Supervise and guide assigned nursing students during pre-post conferences and clinical rotations in healthcare facilities.
- Ensure students adhere to established nursing protocols and best practices, have completed the clinical site and school orientation, and maintain health clearance.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and facilitating development.
- Promote a safe and supportive clinical learning environment.
Lab Instruction:
- Plan and deliver hands-on laboratory sessions to teach fundamental nursing skills and techniques.
- Oversee and assist students in practicing various nursing procedures.
- Maintain lab equipment, ensuring it is in good working order, and communicate equipment and supply needs to lead faculty or Program Dean.
- Collaborate with the lead faculty member/Program Dean to develop, deliver, and update the lab curriculum in accordance with current healthcare standards and guidelines.
- Administer assessments and evaluate student performance in both clinical and lab settings.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Identify areas where students need additional support or improvement and provide guidance.
- Coordinate, set up for, and run labs and simulations as assigned by lead faculty and or Dean of Nursing
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Georgia RN License
- Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
Preferred by appointment:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Experience teaching health assessment and fundamental labs
- Experience in simulation labs
- Clinical experience in med-surg, labor and delivery, pediatrics, etc., depending on the appointment
