Responsibilities:
- Conduct dog training sessions and classes using positive reinforcement techniques
- Assess and evaluate dogs' behavior and training needs
- Develop customized training plans based on individual dogs' needs and goals
- Teach basic obedience commands, leash walking, and socialization skills
- Address and modify behavioral issues such as reactivity, separation anxiety, and fearfulness
- Provide guidance and support to dog owners on training techniques and strategies
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and progress
Requirements:
- Previous experience in dog training or related fields such as pet grooming, pet care, veterinary assistant, or veterinary technician
- Strong knowledge of dog behavior, learning theory, and positive reinforcement training methods
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively work with dog owners
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with confidence and patience
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques for safety during training sessions
- Familiarity with kennel operations and best practices for dog care
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
