Job Summary: The Regional Sales Manager will have responsibility for managing our sales efforts in our Southeast Region. In this capacity, the Sales Manager’s main responsibility is to grow our customer base in the states of Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. The Sales Manager will develop multilevel relationships with customers, prospects and strategic channel partners (Distributors & Sales Agents) while promoting the entirety of ICOF’s Oleochemical, Surfactant, Food Emulsifier and Animal Feed portfolios. This position reports to the General Manager Oleochemical Sales – Americas
Job Tasks and Business Decisions:
- Develops and implements strategies to maintain and /or expand sales.
- Prepares and implements short and long terms sales plans for each account.
- Provide accurate and timely forecast of customer demand for product(s) in order to properly build and maintain sustainable supply chains into the region.
- Work collaboratively with Channel Partners to drive sales growth at accounts not handled on a direct basis by ICOF.
- Provide product line / ICOF portfolio training with Channel Partners as necessary to ensure understanding of the ICOF’s products and downstream markets.
- Timely preparation of sales call reports and the recording of pertinent customer data in the company CRM tool.
- Meets regularly with customers and Channel Partners to understand their objectives and requirements.
- Responsible for follow-up on samples, literature and written communication to customers.
- Develop multifaceted and deep account relationship by actively meeting with multilevel customer personnel in Purchasing, R&D and Manufacturing.
- Assist, where needed, in resolution of customer service and / or account receivable issues.
- Accurately communicate customer needs and requirements throughout the organization to ensure ICOF provides excellent customer service.
- Participates in trade shows, conference calls and sales meetings as necessary.
- Plans travel and itineraries.
- Prepares expense reports.
- Keeps abreast of market trends and competitive activity.
- Overnight travel within territory as necessary or required – total time expected to be calling on customers within the region is approximately 35%
- Occasional overnight trips outside the designated sales territory for seminars, training and conventions
Required Experience regarding the job :
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a Science or Business related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years direct field sales experience in the chemical industry. Must have a proven record of exceeding assigned sales goals and objectives.
- The candidate must reside in the Southeast. No consideration will be given to relocation for this position.
