Job Summary
The maintenance / facility technician is responsible for ensuring that facilities are well maintained to be in good operating condition. Their responsibilities include performing general maintenance and repair of the building, grounds, and maintaining machinery and production equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to and from work and on occasion for work purposes.
- Must have functioning cell phone on your person at all times.
- Maintain an updated record of invoices from external partners.
- Promoting safety within the plant
- Liaising with vendors and suppliers on behalf of senior managers
- Inspect the building and grounds on a regular basis.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks around the Plant.
- Responding to urgent maintenance calls when needed
- Diagnose basic mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Paint and repair parts of building as needed.
- Submit weekly records of scheduled repair and maintenance procedures.
- Supervise maintenance submission and record keeping system.
- Safety awareness; safety practices and procedures relating to the maintenance and repair trades.
- Record keeping related to maintenance and HACCP
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Skill to work with hand and power tools.
- Fundamentals of electricity, HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic systems, hydraulics, carpentry
- Must have a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
- Experience with food service equipment
- Good time management; coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Basic math; measure distance and calculate quantities; read and interpret specifications and blueprints;
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form; provide technical support as the working lead; develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff
Education/Experience
- Must have High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and acceptable math and reading skills.
- Valid automobile driver license and insurance are required at all times
Physical Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily including physical labor such as climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and standing for long periods of time; lifting and carrying. Employee must be able to lift at least 50 pounds regularly and repetitively and to stand for long periods of time. The job requires repetition and is physically demanding.
