Faulkner University's Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Director of Clinical Education. The DCE serves as a liaison between the physical therapy program and clinical education sites as well as plans, implements, and assesses the Physical Therapy clinical education program, oversees clinical site and clinical faculty development, and coordinates and supervises student clinical experiences. Additional teaching assignments will be based on background and knowledge. In addition to teaching and student advisement, faculty in the DPT program will be responsible for developing a line of research as well as engaging in service related to the profession, university and the community. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Christ-centered Liberal Arts education, Christian service, and the mission of the University. This is a full-time, 12-month position. Faculty rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching experience, and research.
Position is scheduled to begin August 2024.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree required
- Terminal academic doctorate (PhD, ScD, EdD or DSc) from an accredited institution in a field related to physical therapy, or
- DPT with advanced certification
- Current and valid Alabama Physical Therapist license in good standing or eligible to obtain Alabama licensure within 90 days of hire required
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time post licensure clinical experience as a Physical Therapist required
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice MUST include experience as a site coordinator or clinical education (SCCE) or clinical instructor (CI) in physical therapy OR
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapist education program
