Description of Duties
The Warehouse Manager supports the Fausak Tires & Service (“Fausak”) retail stores by managing the purchasing, receiving, shipping, and warehousing of inventory products as directed by the General Manager. The Warehouse Manager will also perform a supervisory role of any employees working in his/her direct line of supervision including scheduling, workflow, and duty assignment to successfully discharge the duties detailed below.
The Warehouse Manager is regularly responsible for the following duties:
- Inventory Health: Actively manage inventory investment and the inventory required to support sales and to divest unproductive inventory; Enforce standards, metrics, and procedures to maximize inventory efficiency.
- Inventory and Sales Management: Help build the sales and financial returns of the business through effective inventory management and efficient warehousing operations. Assist the General Manager in the areas of inventory forecasting and strategic purchasing.
- Facility Maintenance: Manage, direct and/or perform routine maintenance of the warehouse facilities, equipment, vehicles, and functional systems of the operations to ensure cleanliness, safety, and a well-functioning operation.
- Communication: Provide reports on a regular basis and on-demand to the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer
- Safety: Always consider the safety of Fausak employees, customers, and guests in any decision making as well as the security of company facilities and equipment/property. Serve as a role model for safety to the other employees, and enforce safety rules, policies, and procedures by reporting infractions to the Store Manager or other members of management as appropriate.
- Discipline and Corrective Actions: Report to the General Manager when the need to conduct disciplinary proceedings and issue corrective action arises.
- Other: Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary due to staff shortage.
The Warehouse Manager Must Be Able To:
- Speak, write, and read English at a high school level.
- Run inventory audits, and review vendor pricing agreements for compliance with company goals.
- Input information into a computer system using a keyboard, and be able use email, spreadsheet, inventory and reporting computer programs.
- Handle complaints, personnel issues, and corporate requests; manage and diffuse interpersonal conflicts that may arise.
- Sit, stand, bend and stoop, often for prolonged periods of time.
- Push, pull, and lift 25-50 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
- Endure the physical demands of an auto service location, including being subject to outside temperatures in varying weather conditions, and being exposed to strong smells and noise.
- Maintain a professional appearance, both personally and with respect to the warehouse and office areas. Maintain a tidy and safe work area to minimize the potential for safety incidents and damage to customer vehicles.
- Work retail hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
The Warehouse Manager Must Have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 5 years’ full time work experience in logistics, with 2-3 years experience in the automotive, tire or warehousing is strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Basic computer skills required.
