In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of M&A projects, from initial due diligence through integration, ensuring successful execution within established timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a deep understanding of M&A processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all phases of M&A projects, including planning, due diligence, negotiations, execution, and integration.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential M&A targets, assessing financial, operational, legal, and cultural factors to evaluate risks and opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, legal counsel, finance teams, and external advisors.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate M&A activities, including legal, finance, HR, IT, operations, and business development, ensuring alignment and synergy across departments.
- Provide strategic guidance and support during negotiations, helping to structure deals that align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues throughout the M&A process, developing contingency plans to address unexpected challenges.
- Develop comprehensive integration plans to facilitate the smooth transition of acquired entities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and maximizing synergies.
- Establish and maintain project timelines, milestones, and KPIs, tracking progress and providing regular updates to key stakeholders.
- Change management efforts to support organizational transition and alignment post-merger, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance M&A processes, tools, and methodologies, leveraging lessons learned from previous transactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on M&A or corporate development.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex M&A transactions from inception to integration.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of valuation methodologies, financial modeling, and deal structuring.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges, develop creative solutions, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Jira.
