The Cyber Security Specialist protects the organization's digital assets, maintain the confidentiality and integrity of data, and minimize the risks associated with cyber threats. Will also providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware and software. Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of electronic communications, networks, server platforms, computer workstations, answering queries and addressing system and user issues. Works closely with IS teams, management, and stakeholders to ensure a secure and resilient environment

Develop and implement security measures: Design and implement security protocols, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's information systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber attacks.

Conduct risk assessments: Assess potential vulnerabilities and risks within the organization's infrastructure and systems. This involves identifying potential threats, analyzing potential impacts, and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.

Monitor and analyze security incidents: Monitor and analyze security events and incidents, such as intrusion detection alerts, malware infections, and unauthorized access attempts. You will need to investigate and respond to these incidents promptly to minimize damage and prevent further breaches.

Implement and manage security tools: Will work with various security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and encryption mechanisms. Will select, implement, and manage these tools to ensure they effectively protect the organization's systems and data.

Stay updated on emerging threats and trends: stay informed about the latest threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices is crucial. You will need to continuously update your knowledge and skills through training, certifications, and industry conferences.

Provide security awareness and training: Educating employees about security best practices. Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness about cyber threats, social engineering techniques, and safe computing practices.

Ensure regulatory compliance: Ensuring that the organization complies with relevant regulatory requirements, such as data privacy laws, industry standards, and contractual obligations. This may involve conducting audits, implementing controls, and reporting compliance status to stakeholders.

Incident response and recovery: In the event of a security incident or breach, you will be involved in incident response activities, including containment, investigation, and recovery. This includes coordinating with other teams, such as legal, IS, and management, to address the incident and prevent future occurrences.

Provide first-line response to security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents via the help desk.

Use help desk software to log and track cybersecurity incidents from initial report to resolution.

Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding cybersecurity issues, providing updates and information through the help desk platform.

Active participant in project implementations and hardware deployments.
- Contributes technical documentation to knowledge database.

Required to be part of on-call rotation every 5-6 weeks.

BS/BA in Information Systems or relevant field, preferred.

Minimum of Two (2) years of experience as a Cyber-Security Specialist or similar role.

Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs and network data.

Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.

Proficiency with antivirus and security software.

Working knowledge of Windows and iOS devices, wired/wireless/4G/5G networks and portable data devices, and basic office automation systems.

Technical training supplemented with continuing education/seminars.

Required onsite during off-hours for larger emergencies that require whole department.

Healthcare industry experience preferred.
