The Mobile Response Team (MRT) and Volunteer Coordinator advance the mission of the Rape Recovery Center by enhancing the organization's capacity to support survivors of sexual violence in Salt Lake and Tooele counties through effective management and coordination of volunteers. The MRT & Volunteer Coordinator assists the MRT Director with daily operations, 24/7 scheduling, and crisis management of MRT. The Coordinator supervises, trains, and mentors MRT volunteers. Additionally, the Coordinator handles volunteer recruitment and coordination for the entire agency. The ideal candidate is adept at handling the unpredictability of managing a 24/7 volunteer team in a crisis environment.
The position is full-time, beneficial, hourly, and offers a 40-hour workweek. The rate range is $22.84 - $25.24 per hour and follows a Friday-Tuesday schedule (occasional evening hours as applicable) Applicants from historically excluded communities are encouraged to apply.
Reports To: Mobile Response Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and oversight in planning, creating, and executing Mobile Response Team staff and volunteer operations.
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and placement across the agency.
- Ensure that you stay informed about resources and services available to clients and make appropriate referrals.
- Stay engaged with the RRC Prison Rape Elimination Act Program and ensure the provision of services to incarcerated survivors.
- Identify enrichments to the MRT program, monitor for gaps in service delivery, and advise the MRT director on trends to ensure that services meet the Utah Rape Crisis Standards of Care.
- Offer assistance and respond promptly in situations involving multiple Code R/forensic exams.
- Ensure all services provided are subject to confidential communication requirements in the Utah Confidential Communication Act, Utah Code 77-38-202.
- Complete all records accurately within 24 hours of services rendered.
- Implement surveys and assessment tools for clients for individual and RRC service evaluation.
- Uphold positive and productive relationships with internal and external partners and understand the Mobile Response Team's role in the county-wide Sexual Assault Response Team (SART).
- Monitor for gaps in service delivery and proactively work to minimize disruptions.
- Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner.
- Show confidence in the knowledge base and people skills.
- Uphold positive and productive relationships with RRC staff, volunteers, and community partners in a collaborative, respectful fashion that strengthens relationships while maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, mental health services or related field OR 4 years of relevant experience with at least one (1) year of relevant supervision experience required OR a combination of practical and academic experience.
- A strong understanding and/or interest in sexual violence service delivery.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Utah Statutes concerning sexual violence, survivor resources and crisis services and their impact on survivors.
- Outstanding communication skills, including writing, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and listening.
- Excellence in balancing multiple responsibilities, organized and detail-oriented.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, mental health services or related field OR 6 years of relevant experience with at least two (2) years of relevant supervision experience required or a combination of practical and academic. experience.
- Experience in volunteer coordination, including recruitment, training, supervision, and retention.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Utah Standards of Care for Rape Crisis Programs and the feminist multicultural approach.
- 3 years of management and supervisory experience.
- An understanding of grants, grant administration, and reporting requirements.
- Experience working with disproportionately impacted populations (i.e. LGBTQI+, Unhoused, Undocumented Immigrants, Black, Indigenous, and other Persons of Color).
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT OFFER
- The employee must complete all new hire paperwork by the end of the day on the first workday.
- The employee must complete a criminal background check.
- The employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification and submit it within 120 days.
- The employee agrees to a probationary period of 90 days from the first day of working in the new position. After 90 days, the employee will receive a detailed evaluation of their progress.
