Station Manager Job Description
Recommends budget needs for the Rescue Squad; justifies recommendations; builds budget requests based on the input of volunteers, paid staff, and research; recommends and, upon approval, purchases needed equipment and medical supplies, and ensures proper equipment maintenance.
Provide liaison services between Sussex Fire and Rescue leadership, Waverly Rescue Squad leadership, the hospitals, and other public safety agencies.
Applies for grants and prepares grant reports.
Provides oversight of facilities, fleet maintenance, and medical equipment and supplies to ensure sufficient inventory and timely scheduling of preventative maintenance checks on all fleet vehicles.
Research technology and implement updated programs and services.
Respond to complaints, questions, and requests for information about the services, and relay any received information to the relevant party or agency.
Prepare and submit various reports as local, state, and federal governments require. Oversee the filing and maintenance of reports, records, and other documentation as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Act in an operational capacity in situations where delivering a service is necessary.
Attending meetings and training as directed by the Captain and Board of Directors
Ensure documentation is complete and accurate according to policy and regulations through a QM program. Review all calls for billing information, obtain any necessary billing information, and provide feedback to administrative staff.
Assist in the orientation of Waverly Rescue Squad to new contract employees.
Follow all WRS policies and procedures.
Communicate any pertinent information received from contract staff or County staff.
Provide in-service and other training opportunities to volunteer and paid staff, private organizations, and citizen requests.
Build the narcotics program by establishing regulations, supervision, purchasing, stock distribution, and record keeping.
Communicate any issues with the Captain.
Confirm that all daily assignments are completed by staff and document and communicate the status to the Captain.
Be available to vendors for any questions or issues during scheduled hours and for walk-in patients.
Coordinate the establishment of the Community Paramedicine program and obtain certification.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EMT-I; EMT-Paramedic; RN
2 Years experience in an emergency environment
Hold EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operation Certification)
Valid Virginia driver’s license
BENEFITS
Salary: Range $58,000 to $62,400, plus benefit
Vacation days 96 hrs./yr., (8hrs a month) roll over up to and not to exceed 192 hrs.
