The Vander Weele Group is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee monitoring efforts for the Department of Education's DIF program. The responsibilities include developing monitoring frameworks, protocols, and indicators, as well as conducting compliance reviews to ensure adherence to Federal policies, regulations, rules, and agreements. This role involves identifying and reporting specific and systemic program concerns and providing targeted technical assistance based on existing Federal policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
This position is contingent on contract awarded.
Job Duties
- Develops monitoring frameworks and manages project plans, ensuring resources are allocated and managed effectively, work is on time and on budget, and course corrections are made effectively.
- Establishes Quality Assurance process for all contract deliverables and client-facing materials, including reports, documents, and resources.
- Ensures client deliverables (reports, project website, etc.) are delivered in a timely manner and free from errors in content, grammar, spelling, or punctuation.
- Analyzes and reports inconsistencies in existing programmatic policies and processes and is solutions-based on the concerns identified.
- Test processes and internal controls to verify that practices are in place to ensure compliance.
- Represents the programs by attending and participating in workgroups, committees, cohorts, and collaborations.
- Remains informed and knowledgeable about changes to monitoring approaches, expectations, and processes based on the client’s needs and/or revisions to state and federal policies and procedures.
- Manages project team according to the established policies and practices of the organization and manages staffing decisions.
- Communicates directives and expectations clearly to all team members, including leadership.
- Approaches all areas of development (programmatic, staffing, and client relations) proactively and works to foresee any possible barriers to success.
- Ensures that all project personnel are professionally trained and mentored, including initial orientation and continued education.
- Creates meaningful pathways to professional growth through delegation and with clear, concise expectations.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or allied health professions is preferred.
- 4-5 years of experience working with programs focusing on individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in the DIF program.
- 3-5 years of proven experience managing projects and using analytical and communicative skills, both written and oral, reporting status using tools such as Gantt charts, project plans, or similar documents.
- A minimum of two years performing audits (internal or external), compliance, or regulatory review work.
- Experience with establishing and reporting on metrics.
- Experience producing written recommendations based on testing results and experience coordinating with management to implement reasonable solutions that improve oversight and internal controls.
- Experience creating processes and procedures around compliance or monitoring programs, ideally on a large scale or for a federal program.
- Ability to build, manage, and train teams, identify the right task for each team member, and delegate responsibilities accordingly.
- Painstaking attention to detail, accuracy in written work (including in spelling, font specifications, and formatting), and conscientiousness in submission and review of all work.
- The ability to prioritize and work on multiple sequential processes seamlessly.
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team while meeting time and budget standards.
- Strong motivation and self-efficacy with the ability to multi-task and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
- Professionalism, reliability, integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness in conjunction with a willingness to work together to resolve issues rather than avoid facing them.
