The Neurology Center of New England is a comprehensive neurological care center devoted to the diagnosis, care and management of patients with neurological diseases and syndromes.
We are currently hiring a medical receptionist for a full time position. This role can not be overstated!
As a medical receptionist you will ensure the smooth operation of the practice, and will assist patients with scheduling appointments, handle in person and telephone inquiries, maintain patient records, and facilitate communication between patients and medical staff for a busy neurology practice.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries efficiently.
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and process necessary paperwork accurately
- Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Coordinate patient referrals, prescription refills, and medical records requests.
- Assist with billing and insurance patient inquiries
- Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, collect co-payments, and reconcile payments at the end of the day.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Open and sort all office mail. Dispense all mail to appropriate staff members.
- Receive packages from multiple carriers.
- Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong customer service sills with a compassionate and empathetic approach
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (Eclinical Works) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in basic office skills and administrative tasks.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs in a busy neurology practice
- Ability to use discretion while handling sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well with others
Requirements:
- HS Diploma
- 1+ years of receptionist/phone experience combined with general office skills and computer knowledge in a Medical office
- Medical terminology knowledge a plus
- Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications. ECW experience a plus!
- Must have previous experience as a medical receptionist or working in a medical environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
