Annual Compensation Range ($USD): 56,636.00 - 77,812.00 paid on a bi-weekly basis. Individual pay is determined by the applicable CBA and related articles.
A Brief Overview
The Concessions Specialist is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and tracking the activities of the Concession Program, including, but not limited to, Food and Beverage, Retail, Rent-a-Car, and Service concessions located in the passenger terminals and on the grounds of Detroit Metro Airport, to ensure that all venues are operating according to regulatory and contract performance standards. The Concessions Specialist builds and maintains excellent tenant relations through proactive problem resolution.
This position is a 24/7/365-day operation which may include work on various shifts, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required.
What you will do

Conduct routine (daily and monthly) inspections of the concession premises, public and non-public areas at the airport to monitor compliance with regulatory and contract requirements and the Department’s performance standards with focus items such as hours of operation, cleanliness, pricing, product offerings, customer service, storage areas, hallways, etc.
Conduct daily inspections of corridors, storage areas and trash compactor rooms of the terminals related to Concession units to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met and maintained. -
Assist with follow-up on operational audit findings and spot audits, to ensure compliance with the contract and other WCAA Standards.

Inspect and track pest control initiatives. Review reports, follow-up with stakeholders and tenants, assists with recommendations.

Monitor and evaluate market basket and pricing adherence, as required by the Airport Authority. Work closely with other concession department personnel and concessionaires for end-to-end tracking and compliance.

Coordinate daily operations and special events, inclement weather, and implementation of Concessions IROPS plan with management. Assist and coordinates Concessions-related duties during special events or multi-department responses.

Compile and update concession shift reports, observations, and activities, escalates to Concessions Ops Management. Complete logs, incident reports and various documents intended to communicate the activities of concessions.

Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed
Qualifications

High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency

2 or more years of experience monitoring or enforcing contract compliance standards. Experience should include conducting inspections/audits, communicating and working with relevant parties to resolve identified compliance issues.

1 or more years of experience compiling reports on compliance observations, and corrective actions.

Familiar with Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation)

Valid Driver's License and a safe, acceptable driving record.
