Southeastern is seeking an assistant school nurse for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will support the two existing school nurses and provide health services that bridge the regular high school program, the after-school vocational program, and student extracurricular activities. The Schedule: This is a school-year position. Anticipated hours are 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. These hours could change based on the needs of the District.
Representative Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid and other general nursing care.
- Dispense prescription medication.

Maintain health records, incident reports, and other documentation.
- Practice clinical skills and duties, as required and as directed by the school nurses.
- Conduct health screenings, e.g., vision and hearing.

Respond to health and safety emergencies in the absence of the school nurse and/or as directed by the school nurse.
- Accompany students to the hospital, if necessary.

Maintain student health room.

Contact parents and other agencies, as appropriate.

Maintain the confidentiality of student information and records.
- All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program, college, or university. Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
- Current and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.

Knowledge and understanding of teenagers and their health needs.

Demonstrated ability to work well in both team and independent work settings.
- Proficiency or the ability to become proficient with the technology, software, and applications required to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Such other qualifications and experience as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
