CARPENTRY PRODUCTION MANAGER

The Carpentry Production Manager services both internal and external customers by driving carpentry and painting projects to completion, with the highest quality, utmost profitability, meeting agreed upon timelines while coordinating a team of carpentry crews subcontracted to ultimately delight our clients. This position manages all aspects of the customer experience and vendor relationship post-sale up to project completion and final collection of payments. The Carpentry Production manager is responsible for assessing a job site to evaluate the efficacy of the original home remodeling agreement, as well as managing a team of subcontracted carpentry crews. The Carpentry Production Manager supports our highly talented team of designers and business development experts in selling and producing high-quality, custom home remodeling projects integral to achieving our goals of superior product quality and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
· Responsible for evaluating all aspects of carpentry projects occasionally including paint/finishing services, at time of estimating through production including assessment of pricing, scope of work, timelines, subcontractors needed, materials purchasing and management of all labor on site.
- Directing each subcontracted team to assist in execution of projects including establishing realistic timelines, fulfilling customer expectations, overseeing all on-site labor, bringing all projects to completion on time, on according to financial goals ensuring safety/security of job sites to the sheer delight of our customers.
- Work alongside our Resource Planning Manager to oversee management of materials/supplies ordering/receipt reconciliation including ensuring timely returns of unneeded materials.
- Support lead carpenters and Project Consultants (sales team members) in advising customers on financing and possible changes to scope.
- Responsible for interpreting and implementing management policies and operating practices for projects sold through completion and final payments.
- Responsible for selecting and managing the procurement of all materials for the job, including guiding Project Consultants in the estimating phase in determining the necessary specifications for such materials while ensuring protection of the company from unnecessary financial loss.
- Analyzes all legal requirements related to licensing and permitting, Homeowner’s Association requirements, and negotiates for compliance with the same, while independently working with local and state government agencies to obtain required permits.
- Ensures statutory and regulatory compliance with regard to safety and health.
- Conducts meetings with subcontractors to review best practices, company processes/procedures, safety training
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- 10+ years of experience as a highly successful Production or Project Manager of residential carpentry and remodeling construction, having profitably planned, organized, directed and monitored multiple ongoing projects simultaneously, from hand-off through project completion, with excellent client reviews and adherence to company policies, processes, and established best practices
- Experience in estimating, negotiating and selling high-end residential remodel change orders/additional work orders
- Proven ability to effectively organize, plan, analyze and compose production schedules that optimize the capacity and skillset of subcontractors while meeting customer demand at the highest service levels

- Computer and online proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Gmail and Zoho CRM a plus but not required)
- Fluency in written and verbal English
Knowledgeable in both interior and exterior skills including:
- carpentry from framing to finish
- calculating material orders
- Demolition
- Installation of metal and wood doors including hardware
- Installation of cabinets
- Patching and painting
- Finish wood trim

- Extensive phone and computer use, in office and at job sites
- Daily attendance Monday – Friday moving between corporate offices in Newton, MA to job sites in metro-west residences around Boston, MA (occasional evening/weekend coverage may be required but not regularly)
License/Certification:
- MA Construction Supervisor License (CSL) Preferred
- Eligible to legally work in the US required
Compensation: Starting base salary $75,000+ depending on experience. Full medical and dental benefits available after 30 days. SimpleIRA with matching funds available at start. Total of 26 paid days off including personal time, vacation, holidays and sick time. Annual profit sharing plan for all full-time team members.
