Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our team. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with autism and developmental disabilities in achieving their employment goals. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support and guidance throughout the entire employment process, from job matching to job placement and beyond. This position requires staff to drive their personal vehicle. North Eastern Services requires that staff carry insurance coverage of 100,000 - 300,000.
Staff receive mileage reimbursement at .50 a mile.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews with job seekers to identify their skills, interests, and abilities and match them with suitable job opportunities.
- Provide individualized support and mentorship to job seekers, helping them to develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workforce.
- Educate job seekers on employment and labor laws, ensuring they are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with employers to recruit and train job seekers, providing support and resources to help them meet their hiring needs.
- Develop and implement effective training programs to help job seekers acquire new skills and improve their employability.
- Work with job seekers to identify and overcome any barriers that may be preventing them from achieving their employment goals.
- Provide ongoing support and mentoring to job seekers after they have been placed in a job, helping them to maintain employment and advance in their careers.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong interviewing and mentoring skills.
- Experience with workforce development and training and development preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to helping others achieve their employment goals.
