Yorktown Health is looking for great people to join our growing practice! We are seeking an experienced & clinically trained Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) to perform ultrasound examinations following evaluations and treatments made by the physicians in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. All candidates are required to be registered with ARDMS.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as required to all pathological and anatomical images/information.
- Maintaining ultrasound equipment and work area, including supplies.
- Performing all ultrasound techniques and examinations for obstetrics and gynecology patients.
- Analyze sonograms and provide reports to physicians as required.
- Provide a comforting environment while maintaining privacy to patient while they are in the sonographer's care.
- Keep up to date with CME
- Gathers and reviews related patient test reports, obtains medical history, description of complaints from patients, ordering physician and/or staff and patients records
- Processes images and completes studies according to company protocols.
- Presents ultrasound test results and significant relative patient medical history and any other diagnostics information to radiologist/cardiologist. Confers with Radiologist/Cardiologist regarding interpretation of test results, answers questions about scans.
- Instructs patients regarding examinations; explains equipment operation, scanning procedures, and positioning to patients; answers questions and attempts to allay patients’ anxiety.
- Performs routine maintenance, cleaning and checkups on ultrasound equipment: conducts quality control tests and informs supervisor of the need for adjustments and repairs, and calibration necessary to preserve or regain operational efficiency of equipment.
- Remains abreast of developments in the field of ultrasound by reviewing pertinent literature, attending in-service and individual training sessions with HDS, continuing education courses, and interacting with peers.
Minimum Requirements:
- General Ultrasonography experience within the last 5 years
- At least 3-5 years experience with: Ab, Small Parts, OB/GYN, High Risk
- Technical competency in General Gynecological, Obstetrical and Fetal Echo Ultrasound exams
- Graduation from an accredited program in Ultrasound
- ARDMS certification
- ARRT certification
- Associated Degree Required
