Do you love helping create experiences for others? Have an interest in all things weddings and events? We are looking for a Sr. Event Manager and day of wedding coordinator to join our team on a seasonal bases (May-Oct). 2024 Season will require full time work August-December due to maternity leave of another associate.
Our venue hosts around 70 events each year ranging from elopements and micro-weddings to full day weddings. Our venue offers a wide range of desirable amenities to couples, but it is our staff that makes us stand out! You may come as friends but, you will soon be part of The Bowery Family.
Our Sr. Event Manager is responsible for overseeing events hosted at The Bowery. Event Managers become the point person for couple and guest inquiries, ensure the venue space is maintained during events, lead a team of Event Staff and Bartenders throughout the event, and monitor event activity to ensure all adhere with our guidelines.
Our Sr. Event Manager also conducts wedding coordination which does much more to facilitate the day of our couples’ wedding. This includes meetings leading up to event date, vendor communication, décor setup/takedown, managing day of timelines, rehearsals, ceremony lineup, etc. The Sr. Event Manager may also support the Venue Manager with tours, couple communication, liquor ordering and invoicing as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Must be 18 years or older. High School diploma or GED is required. Has leadership/management experience. Experience in hospitality and events is preferred. Experience coordinating weddings/events preferred. This position requires the person possess quick problem-solving skills, flexibility, strong communication, and leadership traits.
General Job Responsibilities
- Conduct wedding coordination & venue tours for prospective couples
- Train new managers and event staff as needed
- Open venue space for event hosts and vendors.
- Answer questions for event hosts, guests, and vendors.
- Provide general venue maintenance and system troubleshooting when required.
- Uphold The Bowery contract terms during events.
- Discuss with guests when contract terms have been violated.
- Assist Event Staff in maintaining cleanliness of venue (i.e. bussing tables, sweeping, mopping, supply restocking)
- Oversee staff onsite during events.
- Assist with table and chair set-up and breakdown before, during, and after the event.
- Basic register operation to open/close register till, open/close tabs, and complete sales.
- Ensure space is clean and locked up upon the end of the night.
Work Conditions
Must be able to work on your feet for 8+ hours during an event. Must be comfortable working both inside and outside during all seasons. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb multiple sets of stairs per hour.
Pay
$25.00/hr.
Schedule
The Sr. Event Manager schedule will mainly be Thursday-Sunday based on event schedule with occasional Tuesday-Wednesday admin work. Event shifts will mostly be open 9am-3pm or close 3pm-midnight. Coordination days are 9am-around 9pm (usually after first dance is completed).
