JOB SUMMARY
Inventory planners are an integral part of the supply chain team. Great customer service depends on
having inventory available at the right place at the right time. Planners are influencing and managing
one of the largest assets of the organization, inventory. A Planner’s customers internal and external
depend on timely communication and accurate information which in turn makes this a service focused
position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
▪ Works with account implementations on inventory plans to support new and existing customers
▪ Monitors and manages inventory service levels and fill rates for branches and key customers
▪ Works with SIOP and Purchasing to ensure product flows through the network as planned
▪ Works with SIOP, Inventory Purchasing and Transportation teams to ensure orders arrive at the
right place on time.
▪ Promotes a safety and LEAN culture
▪ Performs other related duties as assigned.
Key Measures:
● Inventory Service Levels; Fill Rate, Inventory Service Level
● Inventory Investment; Company- Days on Hand
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
● At least 5 years of purchasing experience in wholesale distribution, preferably batteries
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
● Excellent customer service, and interpersonal skills.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to prioritize tasks.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
● At lead 2 years of experience using inventory management / planning software (GAINS software experience preferred)
