Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Lead directs and coordinates shipping, receiving, and quality processes according to operating procedures by performing the following duties personally and with other team members.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of the shipping and receiving associate.
- Provide developmental coaching and guidance to the team in shipping/receiving, lab, communication, and adhering to company policies through utilizing Job Knowledge Reports.
- Recommends discipline and termination of employees to the Plant Manager in accordance with company policy upon final approval of Human Resources.
Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Unload and loads trucks by using a sit-down propane forklift.
- Assist with the day-to-day carrier needs in a timely fashion. This may include providing directions, redirecting delivery, explaining the delay, or selecting dock placement.
- Accurately complete receiving and shipping reports and submit them to accounting in a timely manner.
- Accurately label incoming materials and any item that has a classification change.
- Organize and stage material in the warehouse.
- Anticipate bottlenecks and remove roadblocks to ensure an appropriate flow of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Oversee the 901-lab facility along with activities associated with it (press plates, material evaluation etc.).
- Probe and inspect all incoming materials.
- Make press plates of material and submit samples to the Chicago Lab.
- Perform inventory and adjustments as required.
- Assists with the monthly, bi-annual and annual inventory count.
- Attends all required training, including monthly safety training.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Backfills in Grinding when needed.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the support of business and process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned, including general housekeeping

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous Lead experience preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in a related field required.
- 2 or more years of sit-down propane forklift experience required.
Work Environment: This job operates inside an office and warehouse/dock area where the temperature may vary.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing and up to four hours per shift sitting and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to maneuver the facility on unforgiving surfaces.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with many noises and odors.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear plugs, safety vest, hard hat, steel toe shoes, gloves, and other job-specific required PPE.
