Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Development Specialist to lead and oversee site development initiatives for our rapidly growing fertilizer, industrial chemical and mid-stream company. The ideal candidate will possess a robust commercial background, have extensive experience in the industrial, midstream or chemical sectors, and maintain a strong professional network with companies that currently do or are pursuing business in the Houston area. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving business growth and managing both large and small-scale industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to drive growth in site development and expansion.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and markets within the fertilizer, industrial chemical and midstream sectors.
Market Analysis & Research:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for growth.
- Analyze market data to inform strategic decisions and business plans.
Relationship Management:
- Leverage existing network and cultivate new relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, suppliers, and potential clients in the Houston area.
- Maintain and expand relationships with current clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Project Management:
- Oversee the commercial planning, development, and execution of site development projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Mergers and Acquisitions:
- Identify potential M&A opportunities that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Participate in due diligence processes, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and valuation.
- Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to ensure successful integration of acquisitions.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage budgets for business development and site development projects.
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all site development activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Stay updated on changes in industry regulations and ensure the company's operations adhere to these changes.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, with at least 3 years in a management role within the industrial or chemical sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale site development projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Excellent network within the Houston industrial and chemical sectors.
- Exceptional project management skills, with experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Understanding of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration processes.
- Superior negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong financial management abilities, including budgeting and financial analysis.
- Willingness to travel as needed to oversee projects and meet with stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the industrial and chemical sectors.
