What You’ll Do
As an Associate Accountant/ Accountant, you will perform routine accounts payable tasks while adhering to established standards, such as 3-way matching, data entries, processing payment, and filing. Communication with Vendors and other departments to solve discrepancy issues.
- Verify and post entries of purchases/sales invoices completed by junior team members.
- Review check and ACH payments to vendors and post expenses based on GAAP principles.
- Review payroll checks and tax payments, as well as the daily disbursements journal with supporting documents.
- Review monthly financial reports, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash on hand, and financial statements.
- Assist the Controller by acting as the first reviewer on the draft return.
- Coordinate accounting functions and programs, monitoring all transaction entries in the system for accuracy.
- Prepare an elimination spreadsheet for merged entities and gather necessary account information and documents for the annual audit.
- Handle full book ledgers of small entities like Real Estate/Holding Co., including reconciling daily bank account transactions, issuing expense payments, and maintaining CAM records.
- Issue debit notes and coordinate with attorneys to file property tax appeals.
- Assist the Controller in preparing monthly balance sheets and profit & loss statements for month-end closing.
- Coordinate with tax CPAs to file required tax forms.
- Perform any other accounting duties and support junior staff on an as needed basis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 5+ years of progression Accounting experience, including 1+ years of people management experience.
- CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
- Fluency in both English and Chinese is a plus but not required
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
