- Advanced Behavioral Care, LLC (ABC) was established to provide high-quality habilitative services to individuals who live in community settings. ABC provides services to individuals with neurological, cognitive, educational, and behavioral challenges. We believe that learning is a lifelong process for our clients and staff. As such, our clients may range from children to adults. We utilize current empirically based principles to provide quality care, while continuing to review current literature. Educational and habilitative programs are developed using Applied Behavioral Analytic techniques. Our focus is always on helping the individual develop healthy alternatives that eliminate barriers to full community inclusion and to improve social functioning. ABC provides extensive initial and ongoing training and clinical supervision. Position Overview
- Implement programs as written by the Behavior Analyst.
- Work with clients daily using one-to-one, group, and naturalistic instruction
- Collect data and maintain documentation.
- Adhere to agency, state, and federal policies and statutes.
- Act as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Treat clients, natural supports, stakeholders, and other professionals with respect and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with the agency, schools, families, and other providers.
- Provide direct and ongoing clinic, home, community-based instruction to clients. Work cooperatively with other stakeholders to implement instruction, group activities, and systems of reinforcement.
- Follow behavioral and habilitative programs (e.g., self-care, self modulation, social interaction, academic, nutrition, finances, etc.).
- Complete data forms as required. Graph data accurately using Excel. Review data with Behavior Analyst to improve program efficacy. Collect all required paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion. Meet with all appropriate staff and complete or attend trainings/meetings as necessary.
- Provide documentation on progress for reviews and meetings. Maintain all required records and reports as determined by the team, agency policy, and federal/state statutes.
- Act as a role model for the client, caregivers, stakeholders, community members, and peers.
- Competently use crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed. Emotional and physical skills to address the needs of clients who are aggressive.
Requirements
- High School Diploma. 60+ post secondary credits with a focus on education, psychology, behavior analyses, or related field preferred.
- 18 year of age, 21 years of age or older preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, vehicle and insurance, transportation of clients, periodic travel to different worksites.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or related disorders within a behavioral format is preferred but not required.
- Drug screen and criminal background check.
- CPR, First Aid.
- Med Administration, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (or other) certification and experience preferred.
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail) highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Flexibility in working with different clients and transferring between teams as needed to meet client needs.
- Autonomously take responsibility and be accountable to implement interventions in the treatment plan and to complete responsibilities in the job description or as assigned by clinicians and supervisors.
- Ability to take responsibility for implementing a plan and contributing to the team process by using problem solving skills to identify and implement solutions.
- Ability to lift 100 lbs, walk 2 miles, and participate in sports activities. Frequent walking, standing, pushing, bending is required.
